Proposed
New Police Station
Grandview is growing, and so are our public safety needs.
This site provides clear information about the city’s plans to build a modern police station that includes a community space for public involvement and training, as well as additional officer space and room for equipment.
Need for Police Station
City’s Growth Requires More Police Officers
Due to Grandview’s rapid population growth, more police officers are needed to maintain our current level of public safety with low crime rates. The city is projecting to hire 7 more Police Officers by 2028 to continue our current population to Police Officer ratio. A new police station is needed to accommodate new police officers from our current level to at least 30, to meet future growth needs.

Current Facility Limitations
Grandview’s existing police station, built in 1938, is a structurally outdated, poured concrete facility that cannot be remodeled or expanded due to its confined downtown location. At 86 years old, the windowless and poorly lit facility has reached its maximum capacity and lacks adequate space for critical functions such as evidence storage, holding cells, forensic analysis, records archiving, private interrogation rooms, and modern workstations.

Future Home of the Grandview Police Station
The City Council unanimously approved an agreement with the Port of Grandview to purchase a 4.24-acre parcel in the Wallace Way Business Park on Port Point West Drive. Chief Fuller and city staff identified this site as the best fit for the department’s future needs. The property provides dual access—a public entrance at the cul-de-sac and a separate rear entrance off Forest Road for police operations—and also offers easy access to the nearby school and freeway, making it ideal for a modern police station.
